Our February 2017 Ride of The Month Winner is a 1965 Ford Mustang submitted by Mel Farmer! Here's Mel's quick highlights of his ride:
"1965 Mustang 289 30 over, roller rockers, 411 Eaton posi unit, Master Power Brakes' conversion kit, B&M automatic and stall speed converter."
With Mel's 1965 Mustang being this month's Ride of the Month, we thought it would be a good opportunity to discuss a bit of history around the 1965 Ford Mustang!
What a choice snag - Carl Haas bought his Corvette four years after it first came out. The August 2016 Ride of The Month Winner is a beauty Carl has owned since 1968. He tells us the back-story of how he came to acquire it:
"This was my dream car in high school, but couldn't afford. After graduating and getting a job, I responded to an ad for this car. The car had been wrecked and the owner had no insurance.
In 1990 I did a ground up restoration. After retiring in 2004 I started driving the car and enjoying it."
Overall, Carl kept the original look as much as possible, with the exception of the period correct Crager S/S wheels.
Kerry Love sent us some wonderful photos and the back story of her Father-In-Law's '64 Pontiac Catalina. And this month we are pleased to invite Henry Yox to the “Ride of The Month” table. Henry, c'mon down and join us!
Here is the story Kerry sent in:
My Father-In-Law (Henry Yox) wanted to purchase a 1964 Pontiac Catalina convertible because it was the first car he and his beloved wife of 56 years bought new together. Henry’s wife passed away last October.
This month’s Ride of the Month winner is a really cool 1972 Pontiac Lemans Convertible that has been converted to all of the upgrades and trimmings of a GTO. The car is owned by John Freeman and is local to us here in Mooresville, NC – the home of Master Power Brakes. Before you read about John’s awesome car, go ahead and send us some pictures of your ride!
John purchased his lemans convertible a little over a year ago at the Charlotte AutoFair with the intent of having a reliable street cruiser. The car was painted before John purchased the car so a solid, rust free foundation was available to work with.
This month’s Ride of the Month belongs to a local customer by the name of Richard Mead. Needing some work performed on his 1971 Chevrolet C-10 recently, Richard dropped his truck off at Hughes Automotive in Charlotte, NC. Glenn and his shop are a general automotive repair shop but have a great reputation in the area for working on and servicing old cars and trucks. Needing some brake work done on the truck along with the truck having a big set of wheels, Richard and Glenn decided something bigger and flashier was in order and gave us a call. We decided to go with a complete front and rear Pro Driver Series brake system for the truck along with a freshened up apply system as well. Richard now has a truck that not only has a much improved look behind those big 20” wheels but he also has the confidence to jump out in Charlotte traffic and not have to worry about all of the crazies on the road.
Our February 2016 Ride Of The Month winner Jeff Millikan has plenty of experience and awards from his years rebuilding classic vehicles. Congratulations on one more accolade, Jeff!
Jeff originally submitted some photos to us toward the end of last year. At the time, he was planning on driving his truck to SEMA as part of the Drive'm Dirty Tour. Hope the travel did not do any harm to this beautiful paint job - PPG Vibrance system (2015 Honda blue) with Diztler Hot Rod black top.
